Question:
Can the TH830 be attached to the BMW original cross bars in a X3, 2005?

I do have a possible solution for you, but the Thule Stacker, # TH830, requires a bar spread of 24 inches from center to center between the crossbars on the roof. Thule does not list the Stacker as a fit for the factory crossbar set up on a 2005 BMW X3.
If the crossbars on your X3 are less than 4 inches thick, you can use the Rhino-Rack carrier, # S512 with extension # RRS512X. I have included a link to the installation details for you to view.
