Question:

I am looking at installing air bags on my 2015 3500 Silverado SRW. I am also looking to put in an air tank as well, with the possibility of a train horn because that might be kinda cool. The question that I have is do in need a dual path to run separate systems or can I run everything together on a single path and always have air in the tank and bags? By doing a single path does this pose any problems for the system as a whole and/or overwork the air compressor? While im at it, recommendations between the firestone ride rite bags or the air lift systems? Thank you.

The air bags I recommend for a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 are the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2596. I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs over the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57338 because the air bags are more durable since they use a crimp rolled design instead of a band clamp (see photo) and there are typically fewer components therefore easier to install.

The air compressor kit I recommend for the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs on a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is the Air Command II Compressor System part # F2592 which is dual path meaning that you can adjust each air bag individually. Furthermore, the Air Command II Compressor System is wireless so you don't need to run any air lines or wires into the cab and it has an air tank which could be hooked up to a set of train horns you would just need to either have a new port added or use the one for the tire inflation hose.

In regards to dual path vs single path, this is strictly for filling the air bags and does not have any affect on the air tank, compressor, etc. If you opt for a single path which means one switch fills both air bags, the Air Command I Compressor System part # F2543 is what I recommend but keep in mind you must run air lines or wires into the cab. The Air Command I Compressor System also has an air tank which could again be hooked up to a set of train horns you would just need to either have a new port added or use the one for the tire inflation hose.
