Question:

I have an 2005 F350 Superduty extended cab 4x4 with a Lance 8200 slide in camper. I am looking for the best cost effective solution to enhance the suspension. Was looking at the Timbren for 8600lbs but wonder if i should be looking at something better or an airs system? What would etrailer recommend.

The best solution for you will largely depend on how you use your truck.

The primary difference for your application between the Timbren # TFR350SDF jounce springs and an air bag system like the # AL57397 from Air lift is the resistance provided by the air bags can be adjusted to suit varying loads.

If the only time the rear of your truck experiences sag is when the camper is installed, a Timbren system would be extremely effective, and would have no effect on your ride quality unless the rear truck suspension is compressed, like when the camper is removed for normal driving. If in addition to the slide in camper, you frequently pull trailers or carry heavy cargo in the truck bed that causes the suspension to fully (or almost fully) compress, then the adjustability of an air bag system would be a better option.

I've linked to some videos featuring a Timbren spring and air springs so you can get a better idea of how they work.
