Question:
Im a bit confused, the GTW and TW of 2000 lb and 200 lb seems to make this a class 1 tow hitch. Yet, its advertised as a Class 3. Am I missing something? I plan on using this hitch for a bike rack on my 2017 Golf Alltrack.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7315 which is a fit for a 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack does not have any sort of class rating as EcoHitch does not use terminology like Curt and Draw-Tite do. Therefore, so long as you abide by the listed weight capacities of 200 lbs for tongue weight and 2,000 lbs for gross trailer weight there will be no issues. The benefit of the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver when compared to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11422 and Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24949 is not increased weight capacities but rather the greater selection of hitch mounted accessories due to the larger receiver tube opening.
