Question:

Would still like to know location/locations for installation. Also have seen some reinstall red hooks for cosmetic effect by welding old hooks into spare set of push spring loaded attachments?

If you want a permanently installed flat tow braking setup for your 2020 Jeep Cherokee and your tow vehicle has air brakes the Air Force One kit part # SM99243 is the way to go. I attached an install video for this on a similar 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee as well.

If your tow vehicle does not have air brakes though the SMI DUO part # SM99251 is a bit easier to install and is our installers favorite due to ease of install and performance. I attached an install video for this kit as well. To setup an install with us you'd need to contact our customer service department after ordering the kit and they'd get you set up with an install day.

If you have the # RM-521440-5 installed too the tow hooks will have to remain off of the vehicle. This is true for all base plate kits that fit your vehicle. The base plates do have safety chain loops that could be used as recovery points.

If you are near St. Louis, MO we can help you with the install but if not you'd most likely want to contact an RV shop near you that does installs with a good reputation to let them take care of the install. We can't safely recommend welding the hooks back on to the base plate kit also.

How long does it take to install the tow tabs on my 2020 jeep grand Cherokee 521440-5

Roadmaster estimates an install time of around 3 hours for the Base Plate Kit # 521440-5. If you're doing it by yourself at home, 3-4 hours is a pretty safe block of time to schedule.
