Question:
I have a 2003 Bayliner 212 w/ single axle trailer. I lost one of the EZ lube/Super lube hub covers w/black rubber grease plug a couple years back. I found a replacement at an RV repair shop as the Bayliner dealer didnt have one...the one I bought LOOKED to be the same size, but I had a hard time getting it on without having to bend the inside lip a little in 4 places so as to reduce the effective diameter. Now, grease comes out through those 4 spots and flies all over the wheel. The TruRyde RG04-080 and DC250L-DCRP appear to be the same except for price. Im wondering if there is a difference of a few thousands of an inch, and thats why I had trouble with the one I had to modify? I used a micrometer to measure the OD of the one I have and it is 2.5. The TruRyde RG04-080 and DC250L-DCRP are both listed as 2.44 OD. Any info you can share would be appreciated.

The main difference between the grease caps, # RG04-080 and # DC250L-DCRP, is that the RG04-080 is for EZ lube axles and DC250L-DCRP is for standard axles.
I have created a short video for you showing where to measure on your hub to determine the correct size grease cap. If you measure and determine that these caps will work for you, then I would recommend using the RG04-080 if you have EZ lube spindles with a grease zerk in the end of the spindle.
Keep in mind that you will want your grease cap diameter just slightly larger than the inner diameter of the ring of your hub, but no more than about the 2 one hundredths of an inch that I show in the video, to ensure a secure fit.
