Will this clear the spare tire on my Jeep Liberty? Does this allow me to open the hatch/cargo door?

To determine if the NEO2 Bike Rack, # B01748, will clear the spare tire on your Jeep Liberty, we will need to do some measuring. This bike rack measures 12 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack.

You will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the furthest point on your spare tire. If that measurement is less than 12 inches then this bike rack will clear your spare tire.

There are a few more things you will need to consider when measuring for clearance. This bike rack will hold two bikes and one of those bikes will be mounted on the inside of the bike rack. So the you will want to subtract the width of one of your bikes from the 12 inches to see if you can carry two bikes and clear your spare tire.

This bike rack will not allow you to open your rear hatch when it is attached to your vehicle. Instead, you may be more interested in the Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack, # TH963PRO. This bike rack will secure to your vehicle using the spare tire and will give you full access to the rear cargo area of your vehicle without having to remove the bike rack.
