Under Hood Connections that Need to be Made to install P3 Brake Controller in 2005 GMC Sierra
Question:
Installed adapter to second slot and got no power to controller. Moved black wire next to white wire and it powered on but error for trailer not connected even though trailer was plugged in. is it alright to leave black wire next to white and what to do about trailer not connected error? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The brake controller install harness you have of 3015-P is the correct one to install a Prodigy P3 brake controller part # 90195 but there are a few connections under the hood of the truck that need to be made for the controller to be active. So you'd want to move the black wire back to the pin it was in originally and then follow the install video and help article link I attached that shows the underhood connections and you'd be on your way!
