The DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System is not available for a 1997 Ford F-250 but I do have a very similar option for you in the Hopkins EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist part # 74211 (All Models Expect Step-Side). The Hopkins EasyLift like the DeeZee Tailgate Assist will help with lowering the tailgate but unlike the DeeZee Tailgate Assist will also help with lifting the tailgate.
