Question:

Kats 11481 or 11813? 2012 Toyota Tacoma 4cyl 2.7L. I’ve been trying without success to install a Kats block heater in my truck. Which freeze plug do I need to replace for the block style heater 11481? Auto parts store says the cartridge heater 11813 fits my vehicle but I don’t see the hole that part would fit in on my truck. Just wondering which of these I can actually install. Thanks

I checked with Kat's about the correct engine block heater for your 2012 Toyota Tacoma with a 2.7L I4 engine, I confirmed that the correct fit is the Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater # KH11481. According to Kat's, this will install in the right front (RF) of your engine, as you can see by the accompanying cut out I added.

The other heater that you mentioned, the Cartridge Style # KH11813, is only a fit for a '12 Tacoma with a 4.0L V6 engine, so it won't work with your truck.
