Can these replacement rails be used to add crossbar capability to a retraxpro mx cover? Wondering if the rails are compatible with the cover from both models.

Yes, if you have the RetraxPRO MX Hard Tonneau Cover # RT80370 on your 2017 Ford F-150 with the 5-1/2' bed then you can use the Replacement Side Rails # RTT-82381 to add the Trax Rails to your tonneau cover. I confirmed this with my contact at Retrax. If you have a different length bed just let me know and I can look into the correct replacement rails for that application.
Adding the Trax Rails gives you the ability to carry accessories above your tonneau cover. If you let me know what you plan on using it for I can make some recommendations for you.
