Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch and Camera System for a 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Long Bed

Published 11/21/2019

Question:

Just got my long bed 2020 F-250 for towing my new 5th wheel trailer! I'm looking for suggestions on a hitch, a 5th wheel tailgate, and a camera system! If you think of anything else let me know! Thank you!

Thank you for all of the info! We have exactly what you need to get you on the road and to your camping destination.

For a 5th wheel trailer I highly recommend using a Demco Hijacker because it uses a single wraparound jaw for a complete 360 degree connection with your king pin, further reinforced by a 3/4" thick locking bar. This coupled with the double-pivot head and polyurethane dampeners gives you one of the most comfortable towing experiences on the market.

If you have the OEM prep package on your 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Long Bed then you need the Hijacker UMS # DM8550033 but if you don't then you first need to install the Reese Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit # RP87FR which gives you the same puck locations that you'd get with the OEM system. The only other thing you might be interested in is the wiring kit # 50-97-410-010 if you don't already have a 7-Way in the bed of your pickup. This kit helps to make connecting/disconnecting your 5th wheel wiring much easier.

All of the new 5th wheel hitches are pre-wired for a Furrion Vision S camera system. I recommend using the kit # FCE48TASL-05 which comes with a 5" monitor, a rear camera, and 2 side marker cameras so you have a more view of what's around you while towing. The 5" monitor has the ability to pair with 4 cameras so if you'd like to add another camera you just need the part # FCN48TASF.

If you were talking about a camera that sits in the same location as your 3rd brake light we have that too. Attached is a link to our selection which varies depending on what your F-250 is equipped with.
