Question:
The cargo bag. I have a 2019 Honda CRV. The exhaust is in the rear which is the direct contact with where the cargo carrier basket and the cargo bag will be mounted. Will The exhaust or the heat from the exhaust be a problem for the carrier or the cargo bag?

I've seen some customers who have had limited clearance between a cargo bag like the etrailer Cargo Bag # 988501 and their exhaust system and have not reported any damage to the bag since the wind will help dissipate the heat. These bags are fairly durable, but direct contact would give me more concern that exhaust is not being allowed to adequately escape, which could cause issues with carbon monoxide or issues with the functioning of the vehicle.
With that being said, if you have a factory roof rack on your 2019 Honda CRV I would recommend using a roof mounted cargo box like the SportRack Vista XL # SR7018 which provides quite a bit of space. I really like that this box has dual locks to keep it secured to the roof and your gear safely locked inside-a huge upgrade in security from using a cargo carrier/bag combo. This box will also do a better job at protecting your gear from the elements and it mounts to round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars.
If you don't already have crossbars installed on your CRV, the RhinoRack RVP # RRRVP46 is a great option that will mount directly to the factory side rails on your Honda CRV. If you don't have roof rails on your vehicle, please let me know and I can come up with some alternate recommendations as to the best way to carry your gear without interfering with the exhaust pipe on your Honda CRV.
