Recommended Tire Chains For 2020 Kia Soul With 235/45-18 Tires. I would like to avoid rim damage. These would be used in an emergency only.

I have two great options for a 2020 Kia Soul with 235/45-18 tires, the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC1553 or the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Profile Snow Tire Chains part # TH00023102.

The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains provide great traction in snow due to the diamond pattern which ensures you have full constant contact in comparison to the ladder style which do not have fully constant contact. The color coated sections also help with instillation as they are easier to handle in the cold and less of a hassle to untangle. However, this option does not have wheel protection. In order to obtain wheel protection you need to go with a more premium option, the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Profile Snow Tire Chains. The Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Profile Snow Tire Chains have a diamond pattern and coated sections just as the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains do but contain a self-tensioning mechanism which will cut down on install time dramatically.

I know the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Profile Snow Tire Chains might be a bit more than you were looking to spend but they truly are phenomenal due to how much easier they are to install than other similar options. I have attached a sample video of each to give you a better idea.
