Can The Kuat Sherpa Carry Bikes With Less Than A 47" Wheelbase

Question:
If the max bike wheelbase is 47 inches and there’s no actual adjustment, will my various bikes that measure between 40-41” wheelbase fit this rack?

The ratcheting hooks and straps on the Kuat Sherpa # SH22B are both adjustable so bike models with a smaller wheelbase than the maximum of 47" can also be transported using the rack.
