Can 15 inch Aluminum Trailer Wheels Handle 80 psi

Updated 10/28/2019 | Published 10/27/2019

Question:

I just replaced my 225-75/15 tires on my horse trailer with load range E tires of same size. My wheel is a Dexstar Aluminum wheel and it has a sticker that says 17-233 11/08/11 and 15x6 JJ 2030lb My question is that the new tires require 80 psi whereas the original tires were at 65 psi. I dont know for sure if these aluminum wheels are the correct ones for 80 psi tires.

Yes, your Dexstar wheel can handle the 80 psi requirement of your new tires. If there was anything in your tire/wheel setup that might not handle 80 psi it would actually be the valve stems which you could pretty easily swap with the part # AM20906 which can handle over 100 psi and fits the standard trailer wheel valve stem holes.
