Should psi Rating be Checked When Loaded or Unloaded for Firestone Air Bag Kit on 2004 F-250 4x4

Published 10/25/2019

Question:

When checking air pressure, do you check when it is loaded or not? I get different pressures when I hook up the trailer and when the truck is un hooked

Great question!

The 100 max psi rating for the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2550 is when you have a load on your 2004 Ford F-250 4x4. I have attached a link of the installation instructions as well as a cutout showing that Firestone states the max psi is with a load.

If you don't already have a compressor kit then you might consider adding one like the Air Lift # AL25804 or # AL25980 because it allows you to monitor and adjust the psi in your air bags from the comfort of your cab instead of having to track down a compressor and checking on it where you have the lines terminate on your pickup.
