The correct Curt custom 5th wheel base rail kit for your 2012 Ford F-250 is the part # C16424-204. This kit includes custom mounting brackets that will use existing holes in the frame rails so you don't have to drill into them during installation, saving a lot of time and effort.
The Curt Installation Kit # C16448-104 that you referenced is designed for earlier models of your F-250 (up through 2010) so they won't properly line up to the rails on your 2012 model.
If you don't yet have a hitch I highly recommend the Curt A20, either the fixed version # C16140 if you have a long bed or the sliding version # C16541 that allows for cab clearance if you have the short bed. The A20 features an interlocking 2-jaw system that provides 360-degree contact around the king pin. This greatly enhances the security of the connection point with the trailer while also drastically cutting down on noise and movement during travel for a smooth ride. Its fully articulating head also allows for easier hookup since you don't have to be perfectly in line when backing up the truck.
I have attached a couple short video reviews that you can check out as well.
