You are on the money because the distance between the mounting holes of Trailer Coupler # CTA-400 is 2 inches on center, like you mentioned. You are also correct that this is a standard distance and will allow you to use a number of different adjustable channels, depending on the adjustment you need.
The most common channel brackets for this coupler are the Ram 3-Position Adjustable Channel Bracket for Couplers - 6" Height Adjustment # CTA-CB4 or 8" Height Adjustment # CTA-CB6.
