How does it attach to the sides of a 2019 Honda Ridgeline, without an exposed flange?

Great question! There are some additional install notes for the TruXedo Lo Pro Soft Roll-up Tonneau Cover # TX530601 to fit your 2019 Honda Ridgeline with different style mounting brackets. I have attached some photos which show these instructions directly for you to check out.
