Question:

I assume that with the 48 inch accessory crossbars on Pioneer Platform 49 in x 60 in, my Yakima Carbonite 16 will fit ok. Can you confirm that? Thanks!

I do have a good option for you, however your existing Yakima SkyBox NX 16 # Y95AV won't be able to mount to the 48" Accessory Bars # RR43137B on the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform. This is because the mounting clamps on the Yakima Box, which are spaced apart by 21 inches (side to side), won't line up to gaps in the Pioneer Platform. This means they won't be able to access the underside of the Accessory Bars for proper attachment.

The Accessory Bars are primarily designed to work with accessories that use T-bolts that can attach to the integrated channels (instead of clamping around the bars themselves). The only cargo boxes that are confirmed to work with the spacing of the Pioneer Platforms are those from Rhino-Rack.

For a similarly sized unit to your existing Yakima Box the Rhino-Rack MasterFit # RRRMFT440 will work really well. It provides 15.5 cubic feet of carrying capacity and integrated locks to secure your gear. I have attached a short video review that you can check out as well.
