How to measure hole for proper valve stem size. Would putting a drill bit in hole then measure bi be away for size

Inserting a drill bit into the valve stem hole on your wheel and matching the drill size to the hole size is a route that a lot of people go, so it's certainly a fine method. If you have a digital caliper handy you could also just go the old fashioned route and measure the valve hole.

Regardless of what size you have though the Americana Metal Bolt-In Valve Stem # AM20906 you were looking at will fit. This is because it comes ready to install in a 0.453" or 0.625" hole, which pretty much represents the only two sizes out there.
