Locating Wires To Install Pop & Lock # PL8540 Tailgate Lock on 2014 Toyota Tacoma

Question:
Hi etrailer, Installing PL8540 and have reviewed the excellent video and read instructions. Have installed all the way to wiring under door plate. There are no blue with black or red stripes in the harness closest to the door, or the second harness closest to the drivers seat. Now what? Thanx in advance.

What cab configuration does your Tacoma have? The wires will only be under the threshold molding (step plate) if it's a double cab model with the 4 full sized door cab. For regular or Access cab models, the wiring needed will be located behind the kick panels (the cover next to your ankles in the foot well). That would be the most likely reason why you're having difficulties locating the correct wires.
