Switching from Standard Equalizer to Cushioned 7-1/2" Equalizer

Question:
The width of my current equalizer is 7 1/2 in. Will the Road Armor Equalizer with 6 in width still work? Will the shackles makeup for the difference in width?

I have a solution for you, but I can't say that using longer shackles with a shorter equalizer is going to be the best solution since it may change the frame clearance from your trailer. Instead of going with the Road Armor 6" Equalizers # LC696740 and longer straps, you can get the same cushioned equalizer that fits your current setup using the Lippert Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # # LC279688 which are 7-1/2" long and will match what you're currently using. The Equa-Flex is designed for dual axle trailers with a 6000-8000lb axle capacity.
