Purpose of Bottom Plate on DeeZee Tailgate Assist Lowering System # DZ43301

Question:

the kit for the 2019 classic body style shows a new bottom plate for the gas cylinder to attach. what changed? or do I have the correct kit with wrong Hardware? the kit for Dee Zee 43301 is always shown with only a top plate and a ball pivot just screwed in to the nutsert . from what I know the classic 2019 style is the same as the 2018.

Have no fear! The DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate Lowering System # DZ43301 is the correct kit for your 2019 Ram 1500 Classic and the new bottom plate that was included is supposed to be there. DeeZee recently added this component in place of the single ball mount not because of a difference in the truck but simply to allow for a sturdier connection. The new bottom plate is designed to create a more durable overall system with a longer lifespan.
