Question:
Can these be mounted and pressured up to 100 psi on aluminum wheels?
asked by: Kellen H
Expert Reply:
Yes, the Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire # PRG80235 can be inflated up to its 110 maximum psi when mounted to an aluminum wheel as long as the wheel features an appropriately rated valve stem. The valve stem itself is typically what dictates a wheel's psi capacity.
For psi levels of 100+ you would need an all metal valve stem like the Americana # AM20906. This particular unit fits both valve stem hole sizes so it would work perfectly for your existing wheel if it's needed. If the valve stem on your wheel has any rubber on it it's likely rated for less than 100 psi so would need to be replaced.
