Question:

In 2014 I had my non-working Kwikee 32-Seriesserial #85662 upgraded with an IMGL and 9510 Control Replacement Kit. When the tech was finished I noted that the steps only worked when the override switch was in the OFF position. I asked that the wiring be re-visited but finally gave up and used the steps in the reversed condition. Now that I am retired with more time Im looking into this now that the steps have stopped working. Ive discovered that its possible the tech never replaced the original magnetic closed door switch with the suggested open option. My electrical troubleshooting also traces the present issue back to the replacement controller part #1800709 Rev OF as proper power and override switches check out OK. Door switch sends power to unit ONLY when door is CLOSED! I want to avoid a big RV center charge and am willing to do this work myself. Questions: What control unit should I buy from etrailer.com and which black rectangular door switch should I also purchase? Ill trust your expertise on this and will NOT hold you responsible if I cant correct this problem. THANKS!

The part number 1800709 was phased out and was replaced by the # LC379605 which is the correct controller for your 2008 Kwikee 32 Series step. The correct door sensors are then the part # LC369299 and you'd be set!
