Does Short Bed GMC Sierra 3500 Need Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch Always

Question:

I have been towing a reflection 303rls with a 6ft6 gm 3500 Miramax the hitch was a companion slider the end of the sideways rolling piston stud snapped I love this hitch the thick jaws engage the whole pin I have never needs to use the slide and Im considering the same hitch non slide what do you think

If you never had to use the slider mechanism of your Companion slider then you'd be totally fine to replace yours with the fixed hitch version. A lot of newer fifth wheel trailers are being made with tapered noses which allow them better turning clearance. It also helps that your short bed truck is a bit longer than some at 6-1/2 feet instead of 6 feet.

I know you have a 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 so if you have the factory fifth wheel rail kit you'd want the # BWRVK3700 which fits the rail kit directly. If instead you have a B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch in your truck bed you'd want the # BWRVK3500 and you'd be set.
