Question:
2006 Chevy 2500HD Silverado Crew Cab 6.0 L gas engine. I have a factory Tow package 7 pin connector and I have lost power to my 12v aux power pin Black wire. All other pins work fine. I am attempting to trace the power supply for this 12v pin to see if I have a blown fuse or something else. This 12v pin runs my interior lights for my trailers Car and Horse last time I used both of them everything was fine. I did use both of them over the last few weeks and neither of them had interior lighting. Can you advise where the power comes from for this wire in the connector.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The 12 volt power circuit on the 7-way trailer connector of your 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 comes from the power distribution center which is simply the fuse box in your engine bay. There is a 40 amp fuse you need to check located next to the #1 stud. I also recommend you check that the ring terminal attached to this stud is secure.
If all else fails you can run your own power wire directly to the battery from the 7-way with part # 10-1-1 and part # 9510.
