Can the Curt T-Connector Be Used To Bypass the Factory Trailer Wiring On a 2014 GMC Terrain

Question:

I have a 2014 GMC TERRAIN with a tow package. Recently I lost power to the plug. A dealership checked and found there is power to my fuse panel but not to the plug. Am I able to bypass the towing package wiring and install the #56094 harness as a cheaper resolution? Some research I did, a 2014 was not listed as being compatible, however I saw some installation videos on a 2014. Will installing this harness be harmful to my vehicle since it does have a towing package?
