How Does Yakima Fullback Trunk Rack Attach to 2018 Toyota Prius Glass Hatch

Question:

I am looking at the Yakima Full Back 2 for my 2018 Toyota Prius. I am very concerned about the upper straps on the glass. Question is if the Yakima Glass Hatch Hook Adapter is compatible with this rack and would it help? My concern is the strap pressure against the glass where it enters the hatch. Obviously dont want the glass to break.

Yakima has the Fullback part # Y02634 as a confirmed fit for your 2018 Toyota Prius and they state to put the straps in anchor mode for the top straps. I attached a picture of what the straps look like in this setting. This is essentially the current way Yakima attaches these racks to glass hatches like yours and no longer uses glass hatch adapters. I also attached a picture of the rack installed on your vehicle as well.
