Question:
Hello, I have purchased a 2020 Hyundai Palisade in the last few weeks. I had the Hyundai dealer install the actual hitch, but I did not have them install any wiring harness or connector. The reason being is Hyundai only offers a 4-pin connector for install. A 7-pin connector is not an option for them to install as of now. My understanding is the 7-pin connector is needed to control any trailer brakes, hence why I do not want the 4-pin connector. When I search the 2020 Palisade, I do not see any options for the wiring or the 7 pin connector. Do you have recommendations for a 7-pin connector, as well as an electronic brake controller? Thanks!

The best option we have right now (August 2019) is for you to install the 4-way on your 2020 Hyundai Palisade from Hyundai as we don't have an option yet, and then convert it to a 7-way with the part # ETBC7 which comes with everything needed to install a brake controller and convert the 4-way to a 7-way.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy as it is incredibly reliable, works, well and is easy to use. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.
