Question:
The numbers on the control seem to be all over the place. They go up and down as they please with out the brake being pressed. When sliding the manual brake on the unit it works perfectly fine. But when hitting the brake it never goes to the set 6.2 just to what ever it feel likes. I dont think its the control due to its the second one I installed and same issue as the P1 model.

If you are seeing numbers on the display of your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 without the brakes depressed then this points to signs of a short on the brake output wire. This short can be located anywhere on this wire between the brake controller and trailer brakes so you will need to trace as much of this as possible while checking for breaks. It might also just be best to run a new wire with part # 10-1-1. If this still does not fix your issue then it might also be an issue with the brake magnets. The brake magnets can be tested using the attached help article.
