What is the inside dimension of the closed end of the large U-bolt? I want to check where it will fit on my trailer.

The internal dimension of the closed end of the large u-bolt for the Fulton Economy Spare Tire Carrier, # FETCHL0700, is 3 inches. You will want to mount the spare tire where the u-bolt will have the most contact with the trailer for a secure mount.
