Question:

So this can be installed similarly to the one I had on a 2011?? Some say you have to have your computer re-sequenced when installing on a model without the towing package. I never did that with my 2011 and it worked fine. Just wanting to make sure. Thanks

We do have a way you can install trailer wiring on your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee that does not have the factory tow package but the kit you mentioned is a tow bar wiring kit and is for vehicles that get towed behind a motorhome.

So what you'd need is the Tekonsha part # 118727 which plugs in line with the taillight connectors of the vehicle for a super easy install that does not require a reflash of the computer.

The install of the part # 119250KIT on your Grand Cherokee does not require you to reflash the computer. It does not interface at all with the computer so it does not need that step. I am not sure exactly what style of trailer wiring you had on your old vehicle but this does install pretty easily although not as easy as the custom fit # 118727.
