Question:

One last question regarding higher elevations. a. The high altitude jet kit is for 6-8k ft...Can I assume the 333-0005 works efficiently up to 6k ft without the altitude kit? b. Once installed, does the high altitude jet kit need to be removed for efficient operations at lower elevations? Thank you

The etrailer.com generator part # 333-0005 can be used in higher elevations with the high altitude jet kit part # 333-335717005 which will allow the engine to run correctly between the elevations of 6,000 and 8,000 feet above sea level.

Since you will be at an elevation of 7,000 to 8,000 feet this would work really well for you. And allows the generator to run on propane and gas at that elevation.

There are actually two high elevation jet kits for this generator. There's also the # 333-335717004 which is for elevations of between 3,000 feet and 6,000 feet. Basically the stock jets work great up to 3,000 feet and beyond that you have to swap to the correct kit based on the elevation. I wish I could say that by swapping to any of the jet kits you'd have ability to then use the generators at any elevation below them but you have to match the jets to the elevation otherwise they generator won't run properly. Air gets thinner the higher up you are so the jetting has to match or the air to fuel ratio won't be correct. This is why cars are now made using fuel injection as all of this is taken care of with O2 sensors and computers.
