Snow Tire Cable Recommendations for a 2006 Honda Pilot with 235/70-16 Tires
Updated 03/05/2012 | Published 02/29/2012 >
Question:
The owners manual states that SAE class S cables, no chains, should be used on a 2006 Pilot tires are 235/70-16. Would that mean that the PW1042 cables are really the only ones that I should use and that the PW2119V would not be a good fit? Are there any others that would be a good fit? I expect that the most use they would get would be 4-5 days a year in the mountains.

If the Pilot owners manual states that you must use Class S chains/cables then you must go by that recommendation. A class S chain or cable is going to require 15 mm or less of clearance around the tire. For your Pilot we have cables, # PW1042. The PW2119V that you have referenced are no longer available.
