What Chains do I Need for My 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500, Can I Put them On the Front Tire Too?

Question:
I have a 2019 Forest River Sunseeker MBZ. It is a 2018 Sprinter 3500 chassis. I am looking at the TC2517 for the rear axle. Can I also install this set on the front axle tires for added traction? Would this even be advisable?

Hello Tony,
What is your tire size? I just want to confirm that the Titan Chain Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - Assisted Tensioning - 1 Pair # TC2517 is the correct fit for you.
I do not advise putting them on the front as well, Mercedes specifically warns against it due to tight wheel-well and steering-component clearances. Chains on the front can strike brake lines, suspension parts, or the body during turns, causing damage or a loss of control. The Sprinter chassis is engineered for chains on the rear axle only, where there is adequate clearance and no steering movement.
Where are you headed that you need the chains?

Kate, The tire size is LT215/85R16 115/112R M+S. I will be using the chains in Yosemite most likely under snow, ice and slush conditions. Thank you for your quick reply! Tony
