My question was on Item # 13703. I should have been more clear. That was my fault.

Expert Reply:

The mounting plate for the Lippert 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # LC240220 is 8 inches wide and 3-1/2 inches tall. It has mounting holes which are 2 inches apart on center vertically and 6 inches apart on center horizontally.

No problem. In regards to the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703 I believe the flat part you are referring to with the two holes is the offset. That measures 2-1/4 inches wide, as you can see by the accompanying photo of the dimensions of the mounting bracket for this hitch.
