Question:
If you purchased a 4 point Lippert leveling system, is it possible to upgrade to the 6 point? I have a 17,000 lb Attitude Toy hauler. I am concerned that there may be too much overhand on the rear where the Garage is with the 4 point. I have a side by side ATV that weighs about 2000. I worry that without legs towards the rear of the 5th wheel, I could damage the frame, especially while loading and unloading the trailer with just the 4 point. It would be nice to start with the 4 point and then upgrade if needed. I understand the Lippert states that the 4 point is good for 20000.

I do have an option for you but there would be no way to upgrade from the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System 4-Point Set part # LC358590 to the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System 6-Point Set part # LC675817. The components needed to accomplish the above are more than one would think (wiring harness, control panel, etc.) and Lippert does not offer any sort of upgrade kit for this. Therefore, it will be best to purchase the correct system the first time around.
Please note, the weight of your trailer has very little to do with choosing between the 4-Point Set and 6-Point Set. The main factor is in fact the distance you will have between the center of the front landing gear footpad and the center of the rear jack footpad. If this is less than 20' then you will want to use the 4-Point Set but if this is more than 20' then you will want to use the 6-Point Set.
