Will B&W Tow & Stow Ball Mount Interfere with MultiPro Tailgate on GMC Sierra

Question:

When this hitch is in the storage position, with there still be enough clearance to open the “professional grade” tailgate in all positions without hitting the face of the tailgate?

I went out to our warehouse to take a couple measurements on the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount # BWTS10033B that will let you determine if there will be any interference between the unit when it's in the stored position and the multi-function tailgate on your 2019 Sierra 1500.

What I recommend doing is dropping the inner gate on your Sierra's tailgate, which looks to be the closest portion to the rear bumper when in this position. Then take a measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back edge of the gate.

The Tow & Stow Ball Mount features 2 different hitch pin holes to allow for adjustment. From the center of the furthest hole to the outer edge of the shank when it's in the stowed position there is a distance of 5-5/8 inches. From the center of the closer hitch pin hole to this edge there is a distance of 4-1/2 inches.

This means as long as the measurement you took is greater than 4-1/2 inches the ball mount will work great without any interference with the tailgate, regardless of what position its in. I have attached an image to assist.

Do they make this with a pintle ?

There are a couple of B&W Tow & Stow Ball Mounts available with a built-in pintle hook, both with different size hitch balls included. The B&W # BWTS10055 comes with a 2" ball while part # BWTS10056 uses the 2-5/16" ball.
