If pin or padlock isnt installed in the cam action latching handle, could trailer fall out into bed of truck?

The coupler cam handle safety pin (or appropriately sized padlock) on the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3670 needs to be re-inserted through the cam handle and coupler after the trailer is hooked up and the cam handle itself is completely closed. This ensures that the handle remains in the locked position while towing. I definitely do not recommend leaving the pin/padlock off the hitch with a trailer connected as it's certainly possible (if unlikely) that the handle becomes disengaged causing the jaws to release during travel, thus losing its secure attachment with the trailer.

I have attached a short video review and the complete written instructions on the Companion that you can check out as well.

I have a Patriot 18K fifth wheel hitch. You said in your message above that you can use either an appropriately sized padlock or the safety pin that comes with the hitch to lock down the cam handle. Is there a specific lock that you recommend?
