Longer Shank for Curt Weight Distribution System To Clear Tongue Jack On Trailer
Published 06/30/2019 >
Question:
Hello. I have a 2016 Ram 2500HD and when I lower the tail gate, it hits the Electric Tonge Jack. I use the Curt Mfg. Round Bar WDH. My receivers is 2 1/2 inch and I am using an adapter to bring it down to 2 inch. My shank is 14 inches long. Do they make a longer shank. I literally only need about an inch to clear the Tonge Jack. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17122 should be what you need to lower the tailgate on your 2016 Ram 2500 while hooked up to the trailer and not hitting your tongue jack as it measures 18" long overall or 14" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the adjustment holes. I have attached a photo for you of one of our customers who used this shank to clear his tongue jack on a Ram 2500 as well.
