Are there any parts of the demco sliding hitch that should be lubricated either with oil or Grease?

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034 comes pre-greased from the factory but Demco does recommend keeping all moving parts well greased and lubricated over time as part of regular maintenance.

They recommend simply applying WD40 or similar lubricant into the locking bar tube, opening and closing the locking bar a few times for even application. The jaw pins can be removed and greased by unhooking the jaw spring and snap rings. Routinely clean and inspect the pins for any wear and apply a light coat of grease before re-installing them.

Once a month or every 5,000 miles also inspect the lower guide plates and roller (on the sliding base) for excessive wear and apply a multi purpose or lithium grease to the side guide plates.
