Question:

I read some reviews that stated that mx4 can be pushed from one side to open I like the ability to open or close tailgate with cover closed where G2 tailgate must be closed before closing G2. My Question... is the G2 More secure than MX4 thanks

The BAKFlip MX4 # BAK48327 (for the 6-1/2' bed on your 2018 Ford F-150) is actually the same as the standard aluminum BAKFlip G2 # BAK26327 but it is the premium aluminum option with some extra features. I believe you are referring to the ability to open and close your tailgate with the MX4 opened or closed where with the G2 you have to close the tailgate first BEFORE closing the tail panel. This actually just has to do with the way the seal (to guard against weather) is designed and has nothing to do with security.

The G2 has an older seal design that will only seal properly with the tailgate closed first whereas the MX4 has a dual action tailgate seal which will properly seal whether you close the tailgate first or the tail panel.

Some of the upgraded features include injected molded latch housing for durability, a matte finish to the panels, a premium density foam core, this is rated for up to 400 lbs of evenly distributed weight (ass opposed to 300 lbs for the G2), and an extended 3-year warranty over the 2-year warranty for the G2.
