Can Trailer That Isn't Level Cause Tire Failure

Question:

with new truck boat trailer has more weight on rear tires then on front tires of trailer will this cause a blow out. do we need to tow trailer level or a little lower in front to keep this from happening and will a hitch fix this

When a trailer doesn't ride level it definitely will cause uneven tread wear on the tires that may lead to failure or a blow-out over time. It is always best to pull a trailer as level as possible to not only prevent something like this from happening but also to create a much more enjoyable towing experience with less sway and increased control/stability.

It sounds like your new truck sits quite a bit higher than your old tow vehicle, To keep the trailer level when hooked up you are going to need a ball mount with a larger drop. To calculate the exact drop you need all you have to do is take a measurement on the trailer from the ground to the bottom of the coupler and then on the truck from the ground to the top of the receiver. The difference between these two measurements will give you the ideal drop on a ball mount.
