Your plunger/stop appears to measure less than three inches so does that mean your door holder will not work for my application? please provide me with over all length when plunger is secured in stopper.

Since you need your socket and plunger to be 3 inches in overall length when mounted to wall and door your best option is the Plunger and Rubber Socket Door Holder # PLR64-66 as this is the longest option we have and is right at 3 inches overall length when installed so it will work perfectly.
