Can Older Race in Trailer Hub Be Reused and Will Grease Seal Installed Past Flush be Okay

Question:
Hello, my first time repacking trailer bearings and I have two questions. The large replacement racing seemed to be a bad fit, bigger but only slightly so I used the new bearing with the old racing. Is that going to cause me any problems? Second, I pushed the grease seal in a couple mm past flush so now its a bit recessed and the large bearing inside has zero play as well the seal itself bent inward slightly, bevelled to the center. Should I replace the seal? Or is it okay to be in there that tightly? Thanks for the help!

Reusing your old race is totally fine and going just a little bit past flush with the grease seal is totally fine as well. Normally we recommend flush but if you are just a bit past that there won't be any problems.
