Question:
I searched for the trunk mount bike rack for my 2016 Subaru Impreza sedan, and I was directed to the part # TH910XT. Once installed, will I still have easy access to the trunk of my vehicle? I am referring to when the bike is not loaded on it I understand I cannot open the trunk with the bike attached. : Thanks so much for your time.

The Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier part # TH910XT uses the hatch of the 2016 Subaru Impreza Sedan to attach to the vehicle so you would not be able to open the hatch with the bike rack on the vehicle. Once you open the trunk the metal hooks are not going to have a solid surface to grip on and it could lead to the bike rack falling off and the extra weight from the bike rack could also damage the trunk's lid if you open it.
If rear cargo access is important to you while you are out and about, I recommend installing a hitch Curt Class I receiver part # C11408 with a tilt-away bike rack Kuat Beta part # B202-114.
The Kuat Beta is a tilt-away 2 bike carrier that allows you full access to the trunk when you need to get a cold drink from the cooler after your ride. What I love about the Kuat Beta is that it only weighs 12.6 lbs so it is very easy to pin into the hitch and go. I recommend to get the cable lock part # e98891 to lock the bikes to the rack and the lock part # HL1 to lock the rack to the hitch. A lot of our customers have a better bike rack experience when they switch over to a hitch mounted rack because they are a lot more convenient and easy to use compared to trunk mounted racks.
