Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Without Air Suspension

Question:

I have a 2019 dodge Ram with the 64inch box. It does not have air ride. I have been told by 2 different installers that they are waiting on the frame brackets. I have a Reese 5th wheel hitch. Is this correct?

Since your 2019 Ram 1500 5.5 foot bed does NOT have the air ride suspension the fifth wheel rail kit you would Demco # DM8552032-71 which is a confirmed fit and provides rails compatible with Reese fifth wheel hitches.

Since your truck bed is so short you will need to use a Sidewinder pin box replacement to allow you to make tight turns.

Sidewinders are pin box specific so you will first need to know what pin box you have now in order to pick out the correct one.

There should be a sticker or a stamping on the OEM pin box of the trailer that will list the pin box number that is on the trailer.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.
